How to Add, Remove or Transfer Norton Protection to a New Device
How Norton device slots work, how to install protection on another device and how to remove an unused device from your Norton account.
Many Norton support questions are really device-slot questions. If your plan supports multiple devices, you can install protection on another computer or mobile device from the Norton account. If all device slots are used, remove an unused device first.

Add Norton to another PC or Mac
- Go to login.norton.com and sign in.
- Open My Account and then My Subscriptions.
- Under your Norton plan, choose Download or Share.
- If you are on the device you want to protect, choose Agree & Download.
- If you are on a different device, send the download link by email or SMS to the target device.

Add Norton to a phone or tablet
From your Norton account, choose the app included in your plan and continue to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Install the app and follow the in-app sign-in and activation steps.
Remove an unused device
If your license is already used on an old laptop or phone, remove that device from your Norton account. Norton’s support notes that removing a device deactivates the services on that device; it does not uninstall the app from the device itself.

Transfer to a new computer
To move protection, remove the old unused device from the account, then download and install Norton on the new device from the same subscription. This is safer than trying to reuse installers or old download links.
Important reseller note
If you are helping a customer, the customer should sign in with their own Norton account. Do not attach a customer’s long-term subscription to a reseller email address unless that is the agreed business workflow.
